Rap superstar 50 Cent can’t wait to offload his multi-million dollar property in Connecticut, because he has never felt “at home” in the sprawling estate.
The In Da Club hit-maker bought the 19 bedroom, 37 bathroom mansion in Farmington from retired boxer Mike Tyson in 2003 for $5 million.
However, 50 Cent always feels like he’s staying in a hotel when he returns home, because the place is so big, it even has its own club. The rapper admits he’s enjoyed hosting parties for hundreds of friends, but he’s desperate to move out so he can settle down in a smaller, cozier pad.
He says, “That’s why I’m downsizing, I need somewhere where I can feel at home. It feels like I’m in a hotel. There’s a nightclub. You know how people have like a focus group? I have that for my music, like, 1500 people and play it (new songs). The neighbors are so far away they can’t even hear us.”
Nevertheless, the hip-hop star may face a long wait before he can get rid of the property – he put the mansion up for sale in 2007 with an asking price of $18.5 million after spending a fortune on improvements.
Two years later, the property is still on the market – despite 50 Cent slashing a further $3.6 million off the asking price.
