Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous super-sleuth, Sherlock Holmes, gets an update with this adaptation of Lionel Wigram’s comic book series by writer/director Guy Ritchie and starring Robert Downey Jr. as the titular detective, with Jude Law stepping into the shoes of his sidekick, Dr. Watson.

Jude made the news this fall after he fathered a child out of wedlock. A 25-year-old model delivered baby Sophia in September. She was conceived when Burke had a brief fling with Law while he was filming “Sherlock Holmes” in New York.
