Former Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Alyson Hannigan has blasted plans for a big-screen spin-off of the show, branding the movie “a big mistake.” The franchise began with the 1992 film of the same name, starring Kristy Swanson , which spawned the small-screen series with Sarah Michelle Gellar in the lead role. The cult TV show came to an end in 2003 and is set to be rebooted with a new film featuring a brand new vampire slayer, and without any input from former lead writer Joss Whedon
